Quality and accreditation

All BreastScreen Queensland services undergo a regular accreditation process to ensure the quality of our service.

Accreditation is determined by the Commonwealth Government and requires BreastScreen Queensland to comply with rigorous national standards and protocols that address all aspects of the program.

This includes:

  • clinical practice
  • program management
  • quality controls
  • staff training and customer service.

The national standards and protocols are evidence based and are consistent with international breast cancer screening practices.

A national report detailing BreastScreen Queensland’s performance is released every year by the Australian Institute of Health and Wellbeing.
