BreastScreen Queensland is the only nationally accredited breast cancer screening provider in Queensland.
This accreditation is determined by the Commonwealth Government and requires BreastScreen Queensland to comply with rigorous national standards and guidelines that address all aspects of the program, including clinical practice, program management, quality controls, staff training and customer service.
The national standards are used on best practice and are consistent with international breast cancer screening standards. In short, they are designed to ensure you are receiving a high quality service.
A national report of the program's performance is released every year by the Australian Institute of Health and Wellbeing.
