Trial of breast density notification at some BreastScreen Queensland locations
Trial recruitment has now concluded.
From September 2023 to July 2024, some BreastScreen Queensland locations participated in a randomised controlled trial on the psychosocial and health service impacts of breast density notification. Some clients who consented to participate in the trial were provided with information about breast density and advised to contact their GP if they had any questions or wanted to discuss the possibility of additional tests. Although the in-field period of the trial has finished, GPs may continue to see patients who are trial participants.

This research is being undertaken by BreastScreen Queensland in partnership with The University of Sydney. It is funded by the National Health and Medical Research Council and the National Breast Cancer Foundation.
